Contemporary Artist- In recent times India has become the rising star of the art market. The country’s booming economy, together with the growing appreciation for local artists and the rise of interest from international private collectors, make the Indian market one of the most promising focal points for contemporary art in the 21st century. International artist Carola Syz Sarzi-Amade `has recently staged a most interesting photographic exhibition tracing a journey into the personal space of a young generation of Indian artists who are changing the identity of India and bringing their innovative ideas to the forefront of culture. Their creations make their presence felt out into the world, in museums and exhibitions worldwide.
Carola’s photographs of the artists’ studios capture the cultural development of India and the coexistence of a very strong ancient tradition entwined with the extreme representation of contemporary Artist concepts and ideas.
'My personal experience in the making of this project was unique. When I met the artists, both emerging and very established, I found that each studio was a total discovery; it was either in unusual locations, or old garages or modern building, stated Carola Syz Sarzi-Amade` to a group of journalists at the Nehru Centre in London.
Photographs of the Indian artists included Atul Dodyia, Jitish Kallat, Reena Kallat, Shilpa Gupta, TV Santosh, Mithu Sen, Atul Bhalla, Sanjeev Khandekar, Adityia Pande, Jagannath Panda.
The exhibition, opened by the Italian Ambassador Alain Giorgio Maria Economides, a keen contemporary art lover, signifies a meaningful co-operation between nations and between different communities with Art as common denominator.
