The non-profit humanitarian association TRAVEL FOR AID launches the project “From Vietnam to Italy by bicycle to help disabled children”. Cambodia, April 2009 The initiative is under the patronage of public and private institutions and organisations who gave their moral support to the project. The journey that Matteo Tricarico undertook consists of covering 30.000 kilometres from Vietnam to Italy solo by bicycle. The itinerary will connect dots made by various schools and institutes for disabled children visited along the way. The initiative is in partnership with humanitarian and non-governmental organisations operating in the field of education for disabled children with projects currently running in the visited counties. The aim of the enterprise is to raise public awareness on disabled children’s education and to promote a fund-raising campaign run by partners NGOs for specific projects in visited counties. TRAVEL FOR AID is a non-profit, apolitical and non-religious humanitarian association. The Project “From Vietnam to Italy by Bicycle to help disabled children” It aims to spread culture to its members and the general public by organizing charity and sport events or any other activity to attract people’s attention to the problems of those who, by birth or by tragic accident, live with a physical or mental disability. Furthermore, the association intends to stimulate its members’ and the general public’ creativity with conferences, debates and stages aiming at offering alternative possibilities to vulnerable social groups living at the margin of society.

PATHEIN, Myanmar 12 February 2010, 19:50 – On January the 5th 2010, I left Vientiane behind my shoulders with mixed feelings: sad to depart a place I love so much, but also happy with the desire to continue this adventure after having spent Christmas time in bourgeois softness, meetings with friends, ethnic meals and nostalgic souvenirs of past times. While crossing the Friendship bridge connecting Mekong riverbanks between Laos and Thailand, a scary thought my crossed mind, it was the incertitude of what it was awaiting to happened to me in those unknown lands of north Siam.
