It is not a joke. Now deaf patients can hear by teeth. This new discovery comes from an American research in collaboration with the Food and Drug Adminstration who realized a hearing aid. This tool installed between teeth allows sounds to go via bone rather than by air.
The small instrument is composed of a little microphone installed in the external part of the ear and linked to a transmitter standing behind the auricle. How does Sound bite work? Thanks to the microphone all sounds from external are caught and pass to the transmitter. Then, after filtering out annoying sounds, the transmitter sends the sounds to the dental device .

The result is that vibrations coming from sounds go straight to bones and are transferred to brain through acoustic nerve . Experts say it is a kind of wireless system whose advantages are linked to its small size, the invisibility (the device is installed between teeth) and comfort.
Europe is waiting for permission to market the innovation that can improve the life of people having noise problems in spite of many doubts. According to inventors, Sound Bite is not suitable for any kind of deafness. It depends from case to case. But the most important question is: “Can Sound Bite make life of suffering people better and with more comforts?” The answer is clear.
